Venice with a stroller

Venice has a reputation for not being kid friendly, and in particular stroller friendly. It can definitely be tricky to maneuver the numerous bridges with a stroller. However, it can be done! We found Venice to be so much fun with a toddler.

We tried to spend as much time meandering on flat streets and hanging out in plazas as possible. We found plenty of piazzas where he was able to run and play in peace and where we could also dine.

There are ramps on bridges close to San Marco Square, this makes it easier to get across with strollers. But beware it can be quite crowded.

When we did have to cross bridges we tried to have our son walk across while one adult carried the stroller. But, we he was enjoying a stroller nap, it is possible to have two adults carry the stroller across the bridge without too much effort.

Strollers can also be used on the water ferries. On private taxis they would likely need to be closed.
