Switzerland with Babies, Toddlers and Kids
Switzerland is one of our favorite destinations to visit with little ones! The public transportation is very efficient and some trains even offer playgrounds!
There are endless opportunities, but this is one of our favorite itineraries for those hoping to spend a week in Switzerland with kids (or 10 days in Switzerland with kids).
Start in Geneva - It is easy to land in Geneva and train right into the city. Perhaps stay at a family friendly hotel with connecting rooms. We had a great experience here with a toddler and grandparents.
Montreux/Lausanne Area - This is one of our favorite areas! Full of scenic views, amazing playgrounds, boat rides, gorgeous sunsets, etc. Not to mention the beautiful Chillon Castle. You could spend so much time in this arearelaxing with your family.
Zermatt - It is a bit of a “hike” but it is totally worth it to visit Zermatt. They have playgrounds with views of the Matterhorn. You can also go on hikes, enjoy fondue, and even spas for the parents!
Spiez/Adelboden - This is a great place to stop in between Zermatt and Zurich. You’ll find space for kids to play, while enjoying relaxation for parents.
Zurich - We recommend departing from Zurich airport. They have a lovely family lounge. Plus a large observation deck with playground. You could spend 1-2 nights here and perhaps enjoy a cruise to Lindt chocolate factory or spend time at the Zurich Zoo.
