Weekend in Porto with toddler

We had a blast on our family trip to Portugal. We visited in September with a toddler and grandparents. Everyone had a blast!

Day 1 - Arrive and travel to hotel by public transport. Check in and spend time refreshing. Wander around the city and look at the beautiful architecture. Head down to the river for a port tasting and dinner.

Day 2 - Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Take a river cruise for around an hour to see the city. Hop over to the Gaia side to visit a port house along the water. There is a playground along the river as well! Enjoy dinner near the water.

Day 3 - Spend the morning wandering around getting coffee and viewing the colorful buildings. Head to a port tasting. We recommend Taylor’s because they have a few animals on the property, plus cheeses/crackers which are usually a hit with kids. Spend the afternoon relaxing “picnic style” at Base Porto. Then eat dinner nearby.

Day 4 - If you have extra days, you could head to the beach! You can do a hop-on/hop-off bus tour. Which is actually super helpful with the hills!
