Dubrovnik with toddler

Dubrovnik is a walled, car-free city which makes it a great place to visit with a toddler. If you are looking for a family friendly destination with lots of history, delicious food, beautiful beaches/water activities, and amazing sunsets - then you should definitely visit Dubrovnik!

Activities:

  • City Walls : Go early or go late to avoid the crowds and strong sun. TIP - bring cash to buy snacks and drinks along the route.  Leave your stroller at the entry gate. For those who don’t want to complete the full loop with a toddler, you can exit the walls at the halfway point then head to a nearby gelato shop while another adult takes the quick journey to retrieve the stroller.

  • Cable Car to Panorama for views, snacks, drinks

  • Beaches and pools!

  • Ice cream and wandering the old town

Restaurant Recs:

  • Taj Mahal = Bosnian cuisine - We went twice on our trip

  • Konova Dubrava = for something traditional outside the city, check out this spot. You need to call ahead to place an order because it takes hours to cook your food under the “iron bell.” Feel free to ask for a tour to learn more about this ancient cooking method.
