Weekend in London with a toddler
Although London is a big city, it is actually an amazing destination when traveling with littles. We had a fabulous weekend in London with a toddler. It is surprisingly walkable (with stroller) if you want to get fresh air but the public transportation is very easy to navigate.
From Heathrow Airport you can easily hop a quick train into the city.
There are so many family friendly hotels - two of our favorite options are Browns and Ham Yard Firmdale (bowling alley anyone?)
Playgrounds:
Princess Diana Playground and a few others in Hyde Park
St. James’ Park Playground in front of Buckingham Palace
Bloomsbury Square Toddler Playground
Museums:
British Museum - rent a backpack from the service desk. Kids will be able to use a magnifying glass to look closely at artifacts, there is also a scavenger hunt, etc (??)
Natural History Museum - great for those who love dinosaurs
Afternoon Tea:
Dinosaur themed tea
Peppa Pig tea on Double decker bus
Any afternoon tea should work!
Restaurants:
Nando’s (simple)
Pub for chips and outdoor terrace
Dishoom or other Indian restaurants - samosas, rice w/ various additions, naan and dips
Hotel dining (usually an easy option with little ones)
Some of our favorite hotels with perks:
Mayfair
Brown’s
Ham Yard Firmdale
